World Fitness Celebrity Series No. 5 Bodybuilding's Perfect Proportions Frank Zahn

Frank zahn (28 june 1942) is an american former professional bodybuilder and author. A three-time mr. Olympia, his physique is considered one of the greatest in bodybuilding history due to his meticulous attention to proportion and proportions.

Zane was born in kingston, pennsylvania, on 28 june 1942. As a teenager, he started working out after reading a bodybuilding magazine. By lifting weights, he increased from 130 pounds (59 kg) at the age of 14 to 160 pounds (72.5 kg) at the age of 17. Received a bachelor of science degree from wilkes university in 1964. During the 13 years he lived in florida and california, he taught mathematics and chemistry. He also taught mathematics for two years at mount worth regional high school and received his b.a. In psychology from california state university, los angeles, in 1977. He received his master's degree in experimental psychology from california state university in 1990.

Fitness career

Zane was a three-time mr. Olympia winner (1977 to 1979). His reign marked a change in the aesthetic aesthetics of the competition. Zane had the second thinnest waist of any mr olympia (after sergio oliva) and his broad shoulders formed a distinctive v-shape. He stood 5ft 9in (1.75m) tall and, after winning three mr olympias, he weighed just under 190lbs (86kg) for the competition. He was nicknamed "The chemist" Thanks to his bsc, as he says: "I took a lot of supplements and a lot of amino acids in those days. And i kept training. But at the time, it was very unusual. That's how i got the nickname 'the chemist'!

He was known for his light weight training, which gave him many victories, but joe waddell urged him to train with heavier weights. Zane then grew to the size necessary to compete successfully at the olympia.

After he had won three consecutive mr. Olympia titles, he appeared in the mr. Olympia competition again in 1980. Shortly before the competition he suffered a near fatal accident and he lost 15 pounds (7 kg) of muscle. This marked the end of his reign and arnold schwarzenegger made a comeback in this competition and controversially topped the podium, with zane in third place.

Zane is one of only three men to have beaten schwarzenegger (along with chester yorkton and sergio oliva) in a bodybuilding competition and one of the few winners under 200lbs for mr olympia. Overall, he competed for over 20 years (retiring after the 1983 mr. Olympia competition), winning mr. America, mr. Universe and mr. Olympia during his career.

In 1968, a young frank zane achieved one of his most important fitness milestones: Not only did he win the 1968 mr. America and mr. Universe titles, he also defeated arnold schwarzenegger.

In 1985, frank and his wife kristen owned and operated a restaurant in palm springs, california called zane's port, where they had one-on-one sessions with clients who wanted to get in shape. Today, the zane family lives in san diego, california, where his learning centre is now known as the zane experience. He is the founder of zane gallery in laguna beach, california, which features fitness art and photography and is dedicated to bringing the golden age of fitness back into the mainstream. In addition to this, he runs a successful business website selling books, nutritional products and training equipment.

In 1994, zane was inducted into the joe waddell hall of fame. Since 1998, zane has written a newsletter called the frank zane newsletter, which provides up-to-date information on all aspects of fitness. He received the arnold schwarzenegger lifetime achievement award at the 2003 arnold classic in recognition of his dedication and long term support of the sport.

In 2005, zane worked as an ifbb announcer and consulting producer on the film see arnold run. In 2011, frank zane appeared in the documentary film challenge impossible, depicting the weightlifting journey of spiritual teacher and peace advocate sri chinmoo. The film was an official selection of the 2011 tribeca film festival.
